Cars & Women

She’s like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors everywhere

In the San Gabriel Valley, Southern California, Pasadena in particular, you’ll see remnants of old historic vehicles.  Some aren’t so old as just unique, and, colorful, like people.  An example is the Pasadena Volvo (circa 1980’s)pictured above.

We have our share of annual car shows.  I know of at least two.

I’m assuming the owner, or just the driver, is artistic and a male.  Maybe he’s just a painting contractor.  Guys, much more than gals, tend to put extra work & money to make their car special in some way. So, if the vehicle needs work it’s just another reason for guys to spend more on their first love, or get a divorce.  I’ve heard this said before, more than once: most guys treat their cars with more care than their women.

The sex symbol for them is their vehicle and women.  I tend to believe it.  When it’s time for a divorce, the guy is rarely trying to hold on to the woman.  But, if he has a special car(s), well, you can expect he’ll fight to have the divorce agreement state they stay with him.

I have many photographs of unique cars around town.  What about you?

  1. This article clearly supposes Rosie the homemaker actually doing what it takes to make the home. Sadly this article pretends to delve into the topic with fairness, ostensibly asks who fares better in divorce but then goes into only hardships women face, while ignoring fatherhood as important at all, thereafter disregarding parenting done by fathers, then baldly stating women should be compensated for their sacrifices. The only sacrifice my ex made was bearing one child. Thereafter, she made it her solemn duty to watch TV day in and day out on the couch, contributing by racking up credit card debt and cheating on me. Please, men get crushed with burdens from their wives, debt, paying his attorney fee AND hers, child support, alimony, and private school tuition. She shirked every time there was an opportunity to work, instead working her excuses til they meant nothing any more. What do you have against men?

  2. Hey … what’s with all this OP bashing? Women divorce men all the time because they lost their job or their money. I have seen it so much that I am SHOCKED anymore when some man takes a huge job or financial hit and the woman does NOT divorce him. I have yet to see a thread where women who divorce men (70% of all divorces are filed by women) are trashed! Men ARE visual creatures. It is the way God made them. Women are more inclined towards the material possessions/money thing-a-jig (security etc.). It is the way God made them. IF it is wrong for men to care about how their female companion looks … then it is WRONG for women to also care about how their male companion looks … AND ALSO WRONG for them to care about how much money he makes or has!! … I highly doubt any of the women bashing the OP is going to agree with this statement btw!…,and btw, the OP is about right in his estimate of what her weight SHOULD be for her height, unless she is extremely large boned or has very large breasts.

  4. Cool! There were a lot of cars like that around Berkeley, and I used to love taking pictures of them. I bet a lot of them are part of the Doo Dah Parade? Thankfully, my husband could care less about cars. But he does like his bike a lot 🙂
